Going by everyone's standards (its impact), I give the game a 9.7.

But the game itself, which people seem to be negelecting to review, isn't that great of a game. It quickly becomes boring and not much replay value. There is no reason to give Wii Sports higher than a 9 in all honesty.

It's fine that you rate Wii Sports based on your own personal experience. Some of us just like to look at the broader picture. We were challenged to explain our reasoning, and so I did.

BTW, in the broader picture, your complaints of replay value seem to be an outlier. I'm not at my Wii, so I can't check the current stats, but as of August the typical Wii owner who submits data to the Nintendo Channel played Wii Sports for over 36 hours. It's a much higher play time than such well-regarded games as Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii, or Metroid Prime 3.

It's fine that some people can find replay value in Wii Sports and like the game for it. But what I am saying is people are not rating whatever they thought of the replay value or controls or whatever.

Wii Sports is a difficult game to rate. It changes the perception of games yet at the same time it isn't that great of a game. It deserves a high score in one area and a low score in another. But most people are not looking at all areas of Wii Sports and that's what's bugging me.

I'm probably rambling though.

Well, I'm sorry to call you out on this, but you didn't give any reasons at all for the score you gave it in your first post. So I don't see how you can complain that others are judging it for the wrong reasons.

I could have gone on about how I've played Wii Sports for over forty hours and how it pulled me more deeply into console gaming than I've ever been in my life (check out my games profile. A few games for this console, a few for that one, 30 PC games, and BAM! Over a hundred retail, WW, VC, and GC games for my Wii), but IMO all that takes a back seat to Wii Sports' role as one of the most influential games of all time. So I talked about that instead.

BTW, thanks for keeping me entertained with this conversation while I wait for work to end and Christmas to begin. Merry Christmas!
