stupid, the game gets amazing after chapter 11 according to most reviews online, this isnt a review

Well, no, Kohler never once refers to it as a review, but rather as a preview.

That said, you're not the first person to point out that he hasn't finished the game yet, and that it's supposed to "get better" much later on. I have to ask, though: isn't demanding over 20 hours of playtime before the game becomes "good" asking far too much? It makes me uncertain which of you people are actually defending the title, and which are either stealth trolling, or simply damning the game with faint praise.

If the main problem here is just linearity, like it was in the beginning of FFVII, I expect to be okay

If the main problem is tha it's actually slow for twenty freaking hours

I haven't got that kind of patience for any game. Jesus, I didn't give Persona that kind of time

I can't speak to what the problem is, but from the sounds of this review* it sounds like it's a combination of extreme linearity, tedious battles, a poor combat system, and more. In other words, it sounds like it falls in the latter camp. And I, like you, refuse to surrender 20+ hours of my life to get to the good part of anything. In that amount of time, I could watch two whole seasons of Dexter, or The Wire. I could speed-run through every 2D Metroid game ever made, along with Prime. I could read three Timothy Zahn novels. I could do a lot of things. So why would I spend them on this?

Again, that line makes me unsure if people are being serious or not.

*There are other reviews, many of whom loved the game. I openly acknowledge this fact.

I said it becums amazing after chapter 11, the game is good before that. frm wht i have read online this is what i have seen. and if kohler dusn't say its a review y is this thread even open, check the thread title

Fair enough, I'm just going with the facts and impressions* of Kohler, whom I generally respect. As for the thread title, you'll have to ask the OP why he chose that word. But the article makes it clear that this is not intended as a review, but rather as a preview.

*Admittedly, it's difficult to tell right now which are the facts, and which are just impressions.
