The NES had better games than its rivals though.

Just because I know some Ninty fan will try and report that as trolling even though it isn't I'll use metacritic to validate the statement, which anyone is free to check.

There are only two things wrong with this statement.

First of all, Metacritic does not track scores for anything pre-PSone (and neither does GameRankings). So the comparison that you are telling people do to do cannot be done.

Second, Nintendo had no real competition. Seriously, if you were going to develop for Nintendo, you had to sign a contract that basically prevented you from developing from anyone else. And the FC/NES was released two years in Japan and one in North America and Europe before the SM3/SMS.  Thus, by being first and dominating the market (82% market share), developers did console games for the FC/NES because if they wanted to move product, they had to play by the now-illegal rules Nintendo put before them at this time.

To be honest, if you want to complain about the quality of games on the Wii, talk to Activision, EA, Ubisoft, THQ, Capcom, Hudson, Namco-Bandai, Sega, etc. Because in many cases, the third parties have elected to not bring games to the Wii or have brought substandard games or bad mini-game collections.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.
