Same here! whats the problems with JRPG developers nowadays. Why do they want to change nearly all the rules at once. Im missing my good old traditional JRPGs. I hope theres at least a good story, it would compensate the awfully repetitive and RPG less gameplay.

It's all in their attempt to "appeal to the West" aka because the 360 has a strong userbase in America, they want to capitalize on that.
What they need to realize is that they don't need to "appeal to the West" in order to...well, appeal to the West. Were any Final Fantasy games ever Westernized? Kingdom Hearts? Dragon Quest? Xenogears?
They used to only have to cater to Sony and Nintendo, which both have done extremely well in Japan in the past. But now, with the 360 only really having strong ground in America...but strong ground nonetheless, they're altering their games in order to accomodate
