It's extremely hard to give Wii Sports a score when it's a game I love but completely counterattacks with the values placed by the gaming populace.

Going by a 2006 standard, I'm going to give it a 8.9 out of 10.

Going by a post-Wii Sports Resort 2009 standard, I'm going to give it a 8.4 out of 10.

The game is non-intimidating on the surface but it has a plethora of practice modes that show off it's inter depths and sets it apart from the usual mini-game fair. To be honest, I can't say Wii Sports a mini-game compilation but rather a strong demonstration of what the Wii remote and Nunchuck can do. For that, I can appreciate this game immensely. It's also a great social game that makes the perfect ice breaker among friends of friends and family members you don't see often. Sure, it may be ugly and monotone by today's standards but it's incredible charming, entertaining and makes for experiences that go well beyond particle effects, cutscenes, shaders, and such. This, at it's core, is a game's game.

EDIT: Since this is a ranking game.  I think I'll go with a 8.7 out of 10.  Average of the first two scores rounded up.
