Yeah metroid has never been overly successful saleswise (1-2 million per game best case scenario)...I think the kids who weren't around back in the day just assume it was once as big as Mario or sumfin just cos of it's legendary status...outside of forums I don't know too many people in the real world who are even familiar with it compared to other franchises!
