Just joining that subgenre is in a way, ripping off DMC. Anyway, Dead Space was a direct ripoff of RE4, with a different premise, and that game was great. It wouldn't surprise me if DI differentiated itself enough for some people to actually prefer it to other games in that subgenre. |
In the sense that it's an action hack and slash game, sure it's a ripoff of DMC. Just like every platformer is a ripoff of Mario, right? But GoW isn't an almost identical clone of DMC. Dante's is just GoW with a new skin.....
