I don't get why he would make it up. What does he have to gain? The game is the epitome of under-the-radar. If he were to fake promote something, he could at least do it for a game with some recognition, like Project Trico or Star Wars: The Old Republic.
It is like telling a story so cockamamie that you couldn't make it up.
If this is indeed fake though, he wasted his own time and everyone elses.
