Also, everyone hated Squall until about 2 years after VIII's release.

i dont know, i never played FFXII.  I just meant that lighting is supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread, apparently.  i havent been following this game very closely, but it looks pretty good story-wise, though i may be mistaken
