God this is a difficult decision. Endearing as it was to my heart, the original Super Mario Bros. lacked the finesse of SMB3. World introduced some timeless elements in the series, but was essential a souped-up version of 3. 64, ah 3-d Mario at last, damned awesome!
Galaxy, not very challenging, interesting dynamics with the physics, once again, souped-up version of the previous gen's Mario. Now, full-circle, NSMBWii, suffers from the same lack of challenging courses (albeit offers a decent test to newcomers of the 2-D Mario realm), still more difficult than Galaxy and, overall more gratifying.

My vote goes to SMB3.

I rank them:
1. SMB 3
2. SMB
3. SMB 64
4. MB World
5. NSMBWii
6. Galaxy
