It's as good of an international one as i could think of at the time.
Though I have a better one.
Say I were to say in August "Wow it's the coldest day of the year!"
Is it downplaying the cold if you were to say "Wait till december!".
Of course not. It is just a simple fact that in all likely probability December will be colder in August.
