3-1's layout is very confusing, since you do some backtrack upwards and downwards in the level.

Also, when you're facing a Guard, don't even try to hit them for more than one time, since they'll use the Sonic Screech attack which will throw you to the ground and take a huge chunk out of your health, plus afterwards, they'll use the paralysis + critical stab combo to finish you.
