Would a 'free topic' have a good risk of becoming boring if someone picks a personal fetish like how great some game was 7 years ago?  I'd thought it would make more people interested more often if the topics were all current affairs and latest games released/announced with info/cancelled and so forth.

I'm thinkning it could be like Radio Free Nintendo does: the first section is devoted to "What's New", where we have commentators maybe talking about what's new for their system of choice, or even just about the games they've been playing. Should have a very Current Events kind of vibe.

Retrospectives would not be kosher for What's New, I should not think.
