For HDDs, I always go with Caviar Blacks.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829271001 - This is the sound card that I have. IIRC it was the top-rated sub-100$ one on Newegg when I bought it, for what it's worth. It seems really good, and I haven't had any problems with it yet.
