Because FFXIII was started before Square-Enix knew how the market would take shape. They bet big on Sony because all the analysts thought the PS3 would sell better than the PS2 and the Wii would sell worse than the GC. besides, you really picked a bad example of a company as FFXIII is the only game square enix has made for the PS3 so far. Versus will make its way out eventually, but DQX (which is arguably bigger) is going to the Wii, and the Wii has a lot of other games like Dragon Quest Swords and FF:CC. |
I think DQX should be on the DS, so far the Wii has shown us it cannot sell has the handhelds, look at MH3 numbers. And, no FFXIII is bigger than DQ, JAPAN is not the world.

MH3 outsold every PS2 MH. And actually, DQ Swords on Wii outsold every PS2 DQ spinoff. I'm not seeing the problem really... I bet DQX outsells DQVIII as well.
FFXIII should've been for PSP. Then it could've matched PS2 series sales at least...
