@Sidious

Are you forgetting that its still releasing on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in the US/Europe? The deal for Sony was for Japan only where there are barely and 360's in the market to make it worth it.

Also every main Final Fantasy game has been cutting edge for its time so I think they naturally went to the most powerful hardware when they started development nearly 5 years ago. On top of that every main Final Fantasy since 1997 have been on a Sony console: PS1 & PS2, and sold extremely well so I'm sure that seemed like a logical progression at the time. They were still counting on PS3 selling like PS2s before its release when FFXIII development started. No one knew the success of the Wii before it released.

And like badgenome said, they have released so many PS3 games...NOT. Aside from 2 new PSN games and a few PS1 classics I can't think of a single other Square Enix game released on PS3. SquareEnix sticking with Sony... hardly. I also feel they purposely took longer developing FFXIII so that the market would have more PS3s and 360s sold by the time it released. Hopefully it was to add more polish and quality to the game. Only 3 more months of waiting for me!
