Personally I enjoy my Sharp Aquos 42" LCD. If I had the room I might have gone larger but I say go one size bigger than you think is right and you will be happy with no regrets. Plasma vs LCD depends a lot on the market prices where you are. I was able to get a better TV for the money with LCD but that was a year ago.
One thing few people talk about when selecting a TV is the available stretch modes and upscaling. For nonwidescreen content it is critical to have a stretch mode you can work with. Also all dvds and the Wii are putting out 480P. So a TV that can upscale that well makes is all look very pretty.
Final* Word on Game Delays:
The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.
Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.
Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.
