It makes sense. He means that people took the slim for granted, and they're now doing the same for FF XIII. Reading comprehension ftw.

No it doesn't.

1. He said FF XXIII (i.e. Final Fantasy 23) - sure a typo

2. "just like when the slim." is an incomplete sentance and makes no sense. Sure, we can assume that he meant to say "just like when the slim launched", but that is not what it says. What it actually says makes no sense.

So to recap, the sentance as writtne with a typo and an incomplete sentance makes no sense.
