Monster Hunter focuses less on dungeon puzzles and more directly on the action. It's selling like hotcakes in Japan. Super Guide isn't the answer to tedious puzzles. They should be reduced or dropped period.
Mario used the SG for parts of the game people still wanted to play, not parts that radically change it.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
