| ultraslick said: This if for the wii only owners; You can say it is for traffic if you want, but that is only the reason why they were allowed to post what they thought. They are not fabricating the whole thing, this is how they feel. I read through the summary, and even with the little sny additions in the OP, it still rings true. Ask yourselves; Would the wii be better with graphical improvements, an online system, 3rd party development? It doesnt matter where you place the emphasis in your gaming experience, the simple answer is yes. And imo, the GC was worlds different. It had great visuals, and the games had an overall richer feel to them. It seems like every wii game is a demo for a game that never comes. Sure there are a very few exceptions, but that does not make the rest of the argument void. If you are a wii only owner and you can possibly fathom any form of your wii games that could be better than they already are, (since everything can always be better) Then seriously do yourself a favor and get a current gen system. I understand you dont care about this or that , and games are about having fun... I agree with that, Just know that the wii is trumped on every possible level, not just visuals. There is a whole other world out there, of GAMES. Games with amazingly rich stories, great visuals, games that will knock your socks off. There are even smaller (wii size) games that are leagues better with the XBL marketplace, and PSN store. As a wii owner, you must admit it... its time to evolve. |
First: you obviously do not understand what evolve or evolution is all about considering the way you put it. A species that evolves does not become 'more complicated' as you are implying-- evolving means that a species becomes more adapted to its current environment (and is thus able to produce more offspring). In the correct context, Wii owners are the more 'evolved' of the groups because they are the more prolific group.
Remember, evolve does not mean more complicated/sophisticated. Humans and bacteria are 'equally evolved' (in fact, the argument could be made that bacteria are more evolved due to the fact that they outnumber us by a large margin).
I also disagree with just about everything else you wrote. Would better graphics make the Wii better? No. online system-- for some, perhaps, but I don't play online very often so it wouldn't be better for me (and I would argue most people). 3rd party development-- again, no because I don't have enough time to play the games I want to as it is, plus games that are described as 'cinematic' or having 'a great story' does not appeal to me (I could not stand Final Fantasy X-- I want to play, not watch hours of cutscenes!).
And your remark on 'get a current system', that is just blatent trolling.
As for the ign podcast: wow. Look at the individuals involved, Dameon Hatfield-- the guy who in another podcast called the Wii a stupid system, and the other IGN editors defended him-- why does IGN even have a Wii page when their own editors hate the system? Hatfield also use to work for the Nintendo page of IGN, and his current reviews of Wiiware games are just him whinning about not having online leaderboards or crappy graphics.
Greg Miller-- the biggest PS3 fanboy around. This podcast was made to get attention by insulting the fans of their own site. That is a stupid move, and I believe we now know why IGN readership is down-- they keep insulting their readers!
