LMAO at the people saying "naughty dog said they would be happy with 2.5 million sold"

Have you ever heard of public relations? What else are they gonna say?

The ps3 install base has grown by about 10 million since UC1 released, the game is being advertised like crazy, it got OUTSTANDING REVIEWS and it has TONS of media hype.

Be reasonable, sales of this game so far have been extremely disappointing. Deep down in their hearts, every sony fan/employee knows it

Naughty Dog must be very sad when they are making a profit already. Poor Naughty Dog, Sony must be sad too. I pity them. Deep down their hearts they must be very sad but hey! look on the bright side Uncharted 2 will also stop selling tomorrow so they must be freaking happy. Lucky them!

Financially it's probably a dissapointment. The development costs and the big marketing were huge for this game.

Boneyboy does have a point. The game had everthing going for it. It did good, not great.

I guess this proves again that reviews don't affect sales too much.[/qoute]

Uncharted was only 20 million to make. Assuming that they getting $30 for every copy

Let's do the math- 30 X 1.5 million = 45000000

Here's a link I found.  http://socialexec.com/2009/02/07/development-uncharted-2-cost/

Marketing could add another 20 million of costs. UC2 had a Big marketing push.

30 dollar  profit per sold seems high. If it were that high, then a lot gamecompany's wouldn't have gone bankrupt.

Uncharted 2 is also bundled a lot which means it's sold under it's price. I'm not sure by how much but profits from bundles will be low.

It's probably higher then $30 as they're not paying Sony royalties and stuff, GameStop and co buy the games for ~$45 (Cba to dig up a source), so after the packages and shipping and whatever else $30 seems reasonable.

I think it didn't sell great, it's kind of sad as even thoguh it's sales are pretty 'meh' in the USA, it'd be unreasonable to have expected it to sell much better. It says more about the PS3's downfall in the USA then Uncharted 2's sales - it's holding up well in Europe though.,
