One of the things I found troubling regarding the Uncharted 2 talk, is how people were making it out to be a reason why the PS3 was selling better. People here bought into the hype also, having Uncharted 2 being a reason for the increase in sales. People expect it to be such, because it is a high quality title. People then expect that means that people who don't own PS3s will buy a PS3 just to play it as a top reason. I believe God of War 3 is likely in that category. Some people also made Killzone 2 out to be such. And now, there is lamenting that Uncharted 2 isn't doing Modern Warfare 2 level buzz saleswise (or even half of it, say Gears of War).
People are actually upset that Borderlands (FPS-RPG hybrid) is doing as well as it has?
I am curious what is wrong with Uncharted 2 doing 2-3 million in sales, getting a movie deal, and getting another game in the series? Say it becomes a franchise title to own if you have a Playstation system (like Ratchet and Clank) even if it isn't a reason alone to go out and buy a Playstation system? Isn't that good enough?
