That whole character just looks like they decided hey, lets play to a stereotype as much as possible!

Like I said, I think it's awesome for comepletely other reason than it's Final Fantasy and I almost want it.  :-p

And yes, it would be even more awesome if he had watermelon too.

If you actually knew anything about the FF series at all you would know this is the new Barret (FF7). They have made lots of similarities between FF7 and FFXIII, although there are lots of new things too

I know who Barrett is and I know he's a duplicate of that character like Lightning is a duplicate of Cloud. 

That doesn't really change the fact Barrett was a giant stereotype too. 

Both of those characters are as bad as anything found in Mike Tyson's Punchout.
