Th general public : Wii fans, have left IGN which has caused a major decline in viewership. Now, where did those Wii fans go ?

Good question, I don't know the answer to that. Speaking for myself, I come here as I find this site reports about stuff I like reading about. Sales success, and reports information that I find valuable or interesting in regards to the games I like. Of course, it is just my theory based on what I see: that most of the IGN fans going are Nintendo consumers; they used to be very numerous on that site, but now seem to be in the minority. I could be wrong and it may be that they are driving away Sony and Microsoft Consumers as well, and Nintendo consumers are just no longer very vocal; somehow I doubt that.

Your belief is the same as people claiming this site is driving 360 fans away and you using its decline as an excuse. Truthfully, IGN is more than just gaming. A lot of website have seen such decline and the biggest evidence, as popular as the Wii is, it's a very small userbase online. Most Wii owners have never heard of IGN.

I'm with you 100% on your first sentence but the sentences following I'm not so sure about that. Some people seem to think Expanded Audience 'members' are just a bunch of ameba's. not taking into account that many of them are lasped gamers as well. Or even PC gamers who don't feel PS3 or 360 are 'hardcore' enough for them. In other words I think many Wii gamers are just as Savvy and aware of and in tune with what's going on as any other console owners. Sure, maybe some of the older retirement homes folks may not be but to say Wii has a small online userbase isn't accurate.

I never said half the stuff you are saying, I said the userbase is smaller. The smartest members of this site and on Gaf are wii owners, but the vast majority of these gaming websites are made of HD owners.
