Lets take the top 3 biggest sellers for each pot and combine them to get a rough indication of the size of the franchises.
Pot 1:
Halo- 25.36 million
Metal Gear Solid- 15.55 million
Gran Turismo- 36.11 million
Gran Theft Auto- 45.77 million
Call Of Duty- 35.1 million
Pot 2:
Final Fantasy- 25.53 million
Mario- 80.9 million
Pokemon- 71.68 million
Zelda- 19.5 million
The Sims- 25.05 million
GTA is the biggest from Pot 1 and Mario from Pot 2.
Those are only the top 3 though, and some series may have declined in popularity (The Sims) or vastly increased (COD) since the originals released. There's also the fact that some are released on more then one platform and others are restricted to one etc.
