Haha I feel the same way, I always want to prolong finishing the games as much as possible, 'cos I don't want them to end. 
But they're so incredible I always end up playing them all the time and getting to the end all too soon. And then again.
I took my time with TP the first time around, exploring every nook and cranny and collecting everything there was. That took me around 65 hrs, and I thought it was over too soon. 
Then I played it again, but on my GameCube, just to see the difference. I got everything in that version too, in like 40 hrs. Then I cried because it was all over.
I need to go back and play some old Zelda games, maybe I'll have time to finish one before my copy of ST arrives next week...
