Back when PSP and DS were still in a 'war' there was a lot of dismissing of the DS not being "as hardcore" as the PSP. A good portion of prototypes for anti-Wii arguments were launched against the DS. "Casual" wasn't yet a popular buzzword in 04 and 05 so the general trolling was that the DS only had "tech demos" compared to the PSP and that they were too shallow. Yoshi's Touch and Go was frequently cited as an offender since its non-complexity ruined many lives on the internet.

Of course when the DS trashed the PSP in sales and the PSP's release schedule came to a grinding halt, the arguments went from "PSP has real games and DS has tech demos" to "I don't care about handhelds."

My bother and one of our college buddies insisted it was another Vitual Boy. They did admit they were wrong later. Another guy called it "a half-assed PDA".
