Microsoft forced a good million japanese people to be open minded to an outsider videogame console. That is huge and shows how closed minded the culture is to rivaling countries goods. Quality has nothing to do with it. Microsoft was beating Sony at their own game and still couldn't outsell them because the Japanese knew the nationalism > games. Japanese devs know about the huge nationalistic pride their people have, market their games to the Japanese and the rest of the world gets the left overs. This is why Sony has so much power over Japanese devs. If Microsoft actually were to break Japan this war between Sony and Microsoft would've been over.
