Save for the addition of waggle and motion controls, what makes Zelda, Mario, Super Smash Brothers, Metroid and Mario Kart very different this gen? Not a whole lot in my opinion, which is fine by me. Don't fix what ain't broke like they say, my point is that they don't have to be radically different to be good.

Hence why I said "every couple of gens" for each franchises. Zelda Wii is apparently oging to be one of the big game changers this gen, but last gen saw more stuff in the vein of Metroid Prime and Star Fox Adventures.

Nintendo does change up their franchises, it's just that they don't do it every generation or every other iteration of a franchise.
