revenue may be down but plenty of companies are making money. Square-Enix, Namco, Microsoft, EA, Capcom. Most of the big name companies are doing just fine, smaller companies are struggling but that's not a trait unique to this generation or the video game industry.

SE $29.8 million profit 6 months (55% decline from previous year)

Namco Bandai $31.8 million loss last reported quarter

Ubisoft €52.0 million net loss 6 months

T2 $55.5 million loss

THQ $5.6 million quarterly loss

Activision $15 million quarterly profit

Gamestop $52 million quarter profit (down from $232 million prev year)

Konami $18.7 million quarterly profit (down from $65 million prev year)

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.
