Normally a change like this doesnt just happen without a reason behind it. Your logic is that you simply trust the numbers more than I do. I simply require more reasoning that just believing the numbers for fact. |
This week has followed Black Friday's enormous PS3 sales, where the console sold massive amounts due to bundles / deals. I think it's likely that last last week's huge sales hurt this week's sales. I mean, going by NPD data, on Black Friday week the PS3 outsold its previous November weeks (~90k average) by 5x over. People that were planning to buy a PS3 picked it up then.
The X360 was also higher than usual due to Modern Warfare 2, and the Walmart deals earlier.
Basically, I'd say the sales of the HD consoles were inflated (compared to the Wii), and the effects are finally wearing off. Honestly, I think we'll see it favor the Wii even more from this point on (until Jan), especially with the Wii's Walmart deal.
