What do you mean? Won't Mario just sit their and die and keep coming back in a bubble then? How do you "Drop" the 1st player?

 

Not to offend anyone but I like Mario games but Mario is probably my least favorite Mario character.

In the Map screen, you hit the + button to open up a menu and you can quit, quick save, or add/drop players in between levels. So Like I said select two player, then before starting a level open up the + menu and drop 1st player
