I agree completely. There have been a lot of 'fluffy' trailers around recently that don't show much gameplay at all.
We have a editorial video taking players through the gameplay basics - we'll release it early next week, and hopefully it will help with anyone that finds the gameplay confusing.
Problem with some of those level videos, is there can be a lot going on - and until someone has played the game they have no idea what is going on at all.
