There is an app called crossover games. I've used it to play some steam games in osx. Apparantly TF2 and Left 4 Dead and other popular games work with it. Obviously it's no replacement for windows, but it is something. You can also install Windows XP on a Mac, as a good friend of mine has Windows XP on his intel iMac. I don't own a real intel mac though so im not entirely sure what's involved.
