This illustrates the Halo hate perfectly. It's a genuinely great game, and if that's what fans had called it no-one would be hating. But they said "BEST FPS EVER" which is just plain wrong, and that's why fans of Half-Life 2 and whatnot got all upset and started dissing Halo.
Once the Xbots started saying "BEST GAEM EVAR" the war could not be stopped. (And yes, everyone who said that and meant it is an Xbot.)
