The main difference from X's battle system is the lack of direct control over your companions and the paradigm shift. It is not too dissimilar to XII's, but just slightly less MMOy

The only times I've seen characters move freely in combat are in much much older videos.

@g-value you're right, 4 is just the most we've seen so far in videos. As you level up you'll have more command slots.

True... maybe they removed it, I am not really sure, but actually not being able to move would be a good thing for me. I have enough to think about without having to move around too!
