Other than completely and utterly missing the point of the book, I thought the movie was alright. Seriously, I don't know why they changed what the phrase "I Am Legend" was about... the original idea was SO MUCH cooler. As a stand-alone movie, it's not terrible but what they did to the original theme of the book is downright criminal. |
What I can't get over is why they even used the book's title, since there wasn't a single thing in common between the two pas what you can read on the book's back cover.
And yes, I know the answer "because of marketing", but that doesn't make it ok!
And your right on Troll 2. Hilariously wonderful. "No More Popcorn!"
As for utterly bad films that can't even redeem themselves...
In the Name of the King - While earlier Ule Boll films had promise, he's gained just enough competency behind a camera to remove distractions from how shameless a director he is. House of the Dead and Alone in the dark we could laugh at. This one just dragged.
A Sound of Thunder - So close to crossing the hilarity line, with a premise so ludicrous it makes us feel better about our 7th grade science fiction novel projects. But in the end it's just a stinker.
Cube 2: Hypercube. The Hypercube aspect was as ridiculous as it was poorly executed. And the film threw away the cool atmosphere, interesting math puzzles and any sense of consistency that fear or dread could hang on to. About the only aspect of the original that the film maintained was the poor acting, which wasn't exactly why people liked the first.
Twilight: New Moon - oh sure, Time will probably dull my hatred of this film and history will judge it as merely an over dramatic yawner. But seriously. I timed it. There wasn't a single exciting thing that occurred until just over an hour in to it. That's an hour straight of pained looks and melodrama. It really is hard to take.
Loose Change - This full of shit documentary is an insult to everyone who lost someone that day and affront to everyone else's intelligence. One day, job interviews will screen this film to avoid hiring anyone dumb enough to believe it.
I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.
Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.
Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!
Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.
