The games looks flawless at 480p, but in HD all the flaws come out, particularly with the backgrounds, and it ends up looking worse. It migh look bettter upscaled than rendered at a higher res.
NSMBW is a game than needs to be seen in motion to appreciate, so still comparisons won't cut it. When I first saw screenshots for the game I thought it looked like ass, but it looks a thousand times better when you actually play it.
