What I hate and like=
+story is awesome
+EVAs themselves kick ass
+Giant monsters
+Rei
+Misato
+Shinji's dad was pretty cool actually
+Awesome movie afterwards (End of Eva)

-Asuka, or whatever the German girl's name was.
I'm forgetting lots of names 
Names fixed.
Anyways, I loved the anime, you'll like it too, just keep watching all those brain-blowing weirdness later on.
I guess the awesomeness of the other stuff make up for shinji and Asuka.
