I'm glad they don't like western games. It forces Sony and other publishers to develop sweet games like Demon's Souls or other JRPG's that otherwise wouldn't be made if Japan bought western games. Because then they would just invest in another western game instead.
Also for those of you talking about classics, the western gaming industry is a lot younger than the japanese gaming industry. When Nintendo was first starting, and Sega, and Sony they are all Japanese companies. When FF, Mario, Sonic, Metal Gear, Zelda were all making their names there wasn't much of a western industry. Shit even the football games back then were Japan(tecmo bowl). Fucking football!!! Taking the last 15 years into account and I bet the West has just as many if not many more classics than Japan. Blizzard has made some classics (Diablo, Starcraft, Warcraft), the Sims are classic, Halo is classic, Golden Eye 007 is classic, God of War I'd say is a classic, COD4 will be classic, and there are many others. They are there, just the founding father characters of the video game industry(mostly NES titles) are all japanese. And that can never be changed, but it doesn't mean that Japan is now nor will forever be the only place to make classic games.
