They do not have numbers provided to them by those retailers.
That is different from saying they do not track them...
They estimate the sales made at those retailers and I would guess due to the interactions they have with some of their customers like Nintendo those estimates are probably fairly accurate ( because Nintendo has its own system to track sales).
PS : The fact that Nintendo released its own internal numbers for Black Friday week will allow NPD to adjusts its Wall Mart estimates too as they have real data for the majority of the rest of the market........
PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !
