I don't know about the context, all I gathered is that she is somehow his "real" daughter?!

He's a thousand years old. At the beginning of the game he does not remember most of his life. But he keeps having dreams about his daughter's death. That is untill that cut scene, when you find out that she is alive, but on her death bed.
