This. Final Fantasy 8 (other then the gameplay) 9 and 10 were awesome. I don't see how they were so much worse then FF6. Now FF12 is a different story. That game was pretty damn horrible.

That's what the anti-game community for FFXII would have you believe, however, far more people(including critics and myself) loved that game, rather than hated it, they just aren't as vocal and insistant. Saying something a million times doesn't make it true, but it can certainly make it popular amongst the uninitiated.

FFXII was a much deeper and more core game than any other in the series, and it turned a lot of people off.

It recieves no more hate than VIII did, in the months and years after its release. Now VIII is a classic and remembered as one of the best by a large number of folks on this forum.

This "anti-game community" has nothing to do with it. I just really disliked FF12. The story, characters and gameplay were all extremely boring to me. That is just my opinion though.

As I pointed out, you disliked the game, don't see what the big deal is about the games(with reviewers and people like myself who enjoyed it) and are relatively vocal about your dislike of it.

You misunderstand me. Not everyone in an anti-game community is a raving nar-do-well intent on unfair treatment of the game. Most are people who played, but just didn't like the game, because perhaps, it wasn't aimed at their tastes(see GTAIV), and don't miss an opporunity to mention how much "it sucked," because that really is their opinion.

I'm not saying you have a melevolant intent concerning the game, I'm saying that you actually didn't like it, and thus, say it is a bad game on occasion, when that might not necessarily be the case. Not all games that you dislike have to be "bad." People often fail to realize that not all great games are meant to appeal to them. RTS games, I hate em, they aren't "bad."

However, the FF series is very popular, and it reinvents itself, and who it appeals to, every different game. There were disenfranchised fans, just like there were with VIII, IX, X, and IX. They say the game "sucked," when in reality it didn't appeal to them.

For instance, I hated LBP. If I said it "sucked" I'd be ignorant. It just didn't appeal to me. If there were a million people who it didn't appeal to, about 90 percent of them would be ignorant of the intracasies between opinion and quality, and how to accurately express them. Games that you hate aren't necessarily bad. They just aren't for you. FFXII was the most niche FF I've played, as far as its gameplay, and it certainly wasn't story drive. Yes, I see how a large number of people hated it, but those people will never see why I loved it, because it takes about 108 hours to explain.

No, the game wasn't terrible. It just wasn't for you, and you hated it. Doesn't mean it sucked.
