Tales of Symphonia is my second favourite JRPG after Secret of Mana.

Expect awesomeness and what every decent JRPG should have: Multiplayer fun!

Secret of Mana had great multiplayer.

Tales of Symphonia has a crippled multiplayer by virtue of the fact that the battle camera doesn't care about anyone but 1st player which leads to a lot of situations where other players can't see themselves on screen or react to enemy attacks or run around with any clue where they're going.

A crippled battlesystem is more fun than no battle system. And I had tons of fun with it^^

Secret of Mana beats it by far though. But then again, What JRPG is not beaten by Secret of Mana? :)

I could answer that, but Secret of Mana was a fantastic game from the music to the visuals to the gameplay.  It's best to leave it at that.

I’m amazed someone felt so strongly about ToS they created a thread just to point out the flaws they felt existed…

At the time, Tales of Symphonia was being discussed in a lot of threads.  It was basically a case of it being easier to put all my feelings into a single thread instead of repeating myself again and again.

I posted a link to that old thread above for Mr. Khan's sake. It's better he go into the game with reasonable expectations.  When people like you and Soriku build peoples' hopes, it's only natural that it becomes too difficult for the game to live up to them.  Since I'm not clinging to the game like some love-struck fangirl, I can actually give commentary on its flaws and hopefully not set Mr. Khan up to be disappointed.
