How is it pathetic. First of all Japan usually has bigger holiday sales startring and in late November and ending in Early December. That's one reason. Remember sales don't spike over there like they do here thx to a thing called Thanksgiving.

Secondly Japan is only 15% of the entire gaming market. The Americas is 50%. Of course there is going to be a difference. Be respective of the sizes.

Japan will tune up soon. It's probably just been in a lull due to it bein so high in sales for the last 2 years. Called diminishing returns. Had to happen sooner or later.

Its pathetic compared to what it used to be.

Currently Japan is only a powerhouse in development, not as far as consumers goes. It used to be that Japan was the dominant gaming market.

actually, no it's not.  Japan was a powerhouse as consumers back then because there was so few consumers.  Europeans basically didn't buy video games, in America it was fairly big but it wasn't as mature as in Japan.  There just isn't enough people in Japan for it to be 50% of world sales.  There's a limit to how far 127 million people can go.  America is getting quite mature now, Europe is a big market but it still has plenty of maturing to do.  Europe seems like they are always the last to adopt these things, the ps2 will die in Europe last, it's nearing death in Japan already.
