I am reasonably certain the PS3 has turned the corner mainly due to price. If they can kick it down to 199 before the end of next year the trend will only accelerate. The PS3 has always been the better console in almost every dimension from feature set to games to accessories not designed to rip you off after purchase.
The 360 always had the advantage pretty much solely due to price, but price has diminishing returns. The gamecube hit a wall on price at about the same point as the 360, once all the consoles are under 300 bucks quality starts to matter more, once the consoles all hit 199 (which will happen next year probably when the PS3 drops to that) the pick resorts to quality almost exclusively, which is the PS3's strong suit.
