Am I the one missing the point if the article writer puts together a poorly thought out analogy involving a movie an it's spoof counterpart? No. That's his issue. This entire blog post of his just doesn't make a lot of sense. Why does a game have to be a parody of something else to be at it's best? Tetris isn't a parody of anything. Also why can't a serious game be a parody of a film?
There obviously wasn't much thought going into this. Not amongst his best work.
