I'll take his word over yours if you're not going to at least try to back that up. He usually tries to back up his claims.

He is not implying the latter. He doesn't claim the latter. He's stating why those games don't appeal to the mainstream. Don't add implications to strawman this.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
