Square Enix and Nintendo dropped hints thatDragon Quest IX would be released internationally, not that we’ve ever doubted that sort of thing. Now we have another promising sign, a localized subtitle.
In Europe, Square Enix trademarked Sentinel of the Starry Skies which sounds a lot like the Japanese subtitle Defenders of the Starry Sky. The two are so alike we’re going to go ahead and call the gameDragon Quest IX: Sentinel of the Starry Skies from now on.
This subtitle is so important Square Enix also trademarked Spanish, French, Italian, and German equivalents.

I see that they're trying to add some sort of letter continuity to the subtitles:
Chapters of the Chosen
Hand of the Heavenly Bride
Realms of Reverie
Sentinel of the Starry Skies
Either way, since I'm fairly sure DQVI will reach western shores early to mid 2010, we might see this Q4 2010.
