"Lowered profits" of the other companies? That's an understatement, PS3 isn't profitable at all, they're drowning in red ink. Dunno about the 360, but I seriously doubt it's profitable. Could be though. Still, nowhere near Wii, which is lightyears ahead.
Everyone and their grandmother love to bash Nintendo, but the fact remains that they're one of the very most succesful and profitable companies in the entire world, which cannot be said of their competitors.
